What are beer labels?
Beer labels are specially designed for use on all types of beer bottles. On the one hand, they are an important information carrier for the legally required mandatory information on the beer contained. On the other hand, beer labels are an elementary recognition mark in a large, diverse range of products.
It should not be forgotten that beer labels must be able to withstand various external influences without damage: If condensation forms on the surface of the bottle when drinking ice-cold beer, beer labels still have to retain their grip, shape and flawless appearance.
A basic distinction is made between belly and back labels as well as breast labels (or neck loops) for beer bottles. This gives you a lot of freedom to customise your beer labels to the different bottle shapes and your company design.
High-quality materials and finishes for your beer labels
Choosing the right material for your beer labels is not just about the necessary robustness. Depending on the label material, you have different options when it comes to finishing. There is also the question of haptics. For the perfect first impression on the target group, the material, look and feel in the hand must be perfectly harmonised.
With a wide range of different materials and finishes, we can help you design unique beer labels that accurately reflect the character of your beer and your brand - in any situation.
Beer labels made from film
Foil labels for beer bottles offer a number of advantages. They are durable, easy to apply and can be customised in a variety of ways. PP film is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use and can withstand large temperature differences.
This makes it the ideal choice for rigid containers such as beer bottles. They also retain their shape and hold their shape even under adverse conditions, such as in the refrigerator.
Paper beer labels
Paper beer labels are more than just an alternative to film labels. They differ from the film versions in their look and feel, opening up new possibilities for product presentation.
The haptic associations in particular convey values such as naturalness and down-to-earthness - just right for original craft beers, for example.
Thanks to careful paper selection and protective finishing techniques, our paper labels have the same robustness as foil labels.
Beer labels are not only advertising media, but also information carriers. The mandatory information required by law on beer labels includes the sales description, nominal quantity, manufacturer's information, best-before date, list of ingredients and nutritional labelling. They must be clearly legible, understandable and in German.
Finishing for beer labels
Film lamination gives your beer labels an exciting glossy effect - and reliably protects the label surface extremely well.
Choose your personal favourite from matt films, glossy films or soft-touch films and turn your beer labels into elegant brand ambassadors that impress with their elegant look and pleasant feel at all times.

Beer labels for every bottle size
As with the contents, there are also differences in the beer bottles themselves. This applies to the shape, for example. There is a whole range of different bottle shapes, each of which has a certain recognition value due to its specific design.
It is common for bottles to have a capacity of 0.33 or 0.5 litres. However, even bottles for the same filling quantity can vary greatly in shape. Bottle shapes available on the market include
- the Euro bottle (0.5l),
- the NRW bottle (0.5l),
- the Steinie bottle (0.33l),
- the Vichy bottle (0.33l) or
- the longneck bottle (0.33l).
The free formats for beer labels from Labelprint24 allow you to design customised labels for every bottle shape and size. Regardless of whether you want to customise your bottles with beer seals, neck loops, sealing labels, belly or breast labels - the Labelprint24 configurator allows you to make adjustments down to the last detail.
For reusable bottles, beer labels must be able to withstand various conditions (changing temperatures, condensation, etc.). On the other hand, the labels must be easy to remove without leaving any residue so that the bottles can be reused.
Beer labels for bottles made of glass or plastic
A less significant but still relevant difference compared to the various shapes is the material used for beer bottles:
- The majority of beer bottles are still made of glass. When it comes to the colour of the glass, there are all variants from the widely used amber glass to green glass and transparent bottle variants.
- However, the proportion of plastic bottles for beer has been increasing since the beginning of the 2000s and they have proven to be a robust yet lightweight alternative to glass bottles, especially for six-packs.
High requirements for beer labelling materials
The material is important because it has a direct impact on the selection of suitable labels. This applies both to the different surface structure and the mouldability of plastic - in comparison to rigid glass containers. After all, the beer labels should adhere perfectly in every situation:
- PP films (polypropylene) are the right choice for rigid containers and therefore for glass beer bottles.
- Paper labels are best suited for bottles that cannot be deformed.
- PE (polyethylene) films are more flexible and can therefore be used without hesitation for mouldable containers such as plastic bottles.

No, we are also happy to realise small runs for you, for example for special editions such as limited special editions, seasonal product offers or as a personal surprise for birthdays or similar occasions.
You can choose between different label types to suit your needs. Adhesive roll labels are suitable for larger runs of labels to be applied by machine. Sheet labels may be suitable for small quantities and individual items.
Does Labelprint24 only produce beer labels for bottles?
In addition to glass and plastic bottles, cans are common containers in which beer is offered for sale. Accordingly, our beer labels are also suitable for canned beer. We recommend our high-quality foil labels for this purpose.
