B-flute corrugated cardboard boxes
At Labelprint24 you can get cardboard boxes made from environmentally friendly raw materials such as corrugated cardboard. Corrugated cardboard is one of the materials produced in the paper manufacturing process. Corrugated board consists of at least one corrugated and at least one smooth paper web. Paper is particularly durable in the "fluted" or corrugated state. There are different types of corrugated board. If only one smooth and one corrugated paper web are joined together, the result is a single face corrugated board. Two smooth paper webs as bottom and top and one corrugated paper web in the middle result in a single wall corrugated board. The more paper webs are glued on top of each other, the thicker and stronger the end product will be. This can also result in double or triple flute corrugated board.
A flute can be produced in different dimensions. This is how the different types of flutes are created. A flute type is determined by the flute pitch (t) and the flute height (h). At Labelprint24 we offer different types of flutes, for example E-, B- and EB-flute.
Characteristics of the B-flute
The B-flute is a fine flute and has a flute pitch of 4.8 to 6.5 millimetres and a flute height of 2.2 to 3.1 millimetres. It is therefore somewhat stronger and more robust than the E flute carton. The B flute, for example, is suitable for smaller products and for precisely fitting automatic packaging up to approx. 20 kg. It is also easier to print on than a C flute because of its small pitch. It is also compatible with other flute types to produce double or triple flute corrugated board. You can also get boxes made of corrugated board with B flute at Labelprint24. These boxes are convincing at the point of sale as well as in shipping.
Advantages of B-flute
The B-flute is almost twice as thick as the E-flute. Nevertheless, it has a quite smooth surface and can be printed well. The B-flute scores over the E-flute with its load-bearing capacity of up to approx. 20 kg. The flute is therefore very stable, but still remains flexible and can be bent, for example. This type of corrugation can therefore also be used as a kind of filling material or for wrapping products within larger packaging. This guarantees a safe delivery or storage of products.
The B-flute in combination
The B flute is also used particularly often in combination with other flute types to produce multi-flute corrugated board. Labelprint24 offers the EB flute for this purpose. This is (as the name already reveals) created from an E and B flute. In a double-flute corrugated board, three smooth and two fluted paper webs alternate, so there are five paper webs in total. The bottom and top of the corrugated board is made of the E flute so that a good print image can still be produced. The inner surface is then equipped with the B-flute. This makes the board very stable and gives it a high load capacity of up to 30 kg.
